Welcome to Hogwarts!

Did I mention? Jody and I totally saw the spires of the awesome Hogwarts castle while she was here in January!!! I’m so ridiculously excited about The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Islands of Adventure. (Which you know if you follow me on Twitter as I re-tweet any news about it.)

So excited that I just made this picture of Hogwarts (which Universal just released last month) my new wallpaper. It makes me happy to know I’ll soon be visiting it in person!! I’m torn. I love this sense of building excitement and I don’t want to rush it away. On the other hand, I want the park open NOW so I can go be there.

Look, I’m a theme park junky and there’s nothing like your first visit to a new attraction… much less a whole world of attractions. I rode the Revenge of the Mummy ride like a hundred times in the days after it first opened. Imagine how much time I’ll spend at Hogwarts?! I’ve already started planning what annual pass I want to buy and when. If I buy in April, I’ll get the Coke/Mardi Gras Florida Resident discount and it’ll be good until next April so, even if everything in Wizarding World isn’t ready by this “Spring 2010″ deadline they’ve given themselves, I should still have plenty of time to experience it all before my pass expires. Right? Right.

And more than a few of you have already threatened warned that you’ll be showing up at my doorstep once Hogwarts opens its doors. I’m gonna need that unlimited access and free self parking. Harry Potter fans unite!

PS: No, seriously, we should plan a group outing. I wonder if we can get a group discount? Hmmm…

PPS: Did you try the 3D Map of Wizarding World? It really works. It’s kind of freaky. (Don’t tell my boss about it. I live in fear he’s going to ask me to create something like it for our labs.)

PPPS: The video preview! (It’s not new. You’ve probably seen it. I just like it.)
