Getting Caught Up

You know what’s no fun? Jet lag.

It’s also the reason it’s been so quiet around here this week. So much for my great plans of having a bunch of posts pre-published so that you wouldn’t even notice I wasn’t at home being my usual TV-watching self. Ha.

But, it’s Friday, and that seems like a perfect excuse for a quick wrap-up of the week. Mostly just news that I missed while I was offline but also some quick comments about this week’s dance shows as they are the only shows I’ve watched yet.

The artwork for Joss Whedon's online project: DR. HORRIBLE'S SING-ALONG BLOG

  • Horrible Teaser: Oh, right, like the newly released Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog teaser wasn’t going to be first on my list! Have I mentioned lately how much I love Joss Whedon? And Neil Patrick Harris? And Nathan Fillion? I don’t even know what to do with all the love that I’m feeling about this project right now. I just know that I can not wait for it to finally be released nor can I wait for their Comic Con panel.
  • CBS Premiere Dates: CBS announced their fall premiere dates and I realized there are only two days on the list that I’m excited about. I’m going to check out several of their new shows but it’s HIMYM, Big Bang Theory, and Amazing Race I care about right now. I’d bitch about how putting Amazing Race on Sundays means it’ll continually be conflicting with the end of NFL games but the truth is that I like it on Sundays. It gives me something to look forward to at the beginning of my week.
  • Comic Con Schedule Madness: Seat’s doing a good job of updating his Comic Con schedule as he gets info from his contacts. I know it can change up until the day of the panels but I suspect the final product is going to be fairly close to what we’re seeing now. And, yes, I’m more than annoyed about the traffic jam happening on Saturday. Who pits Pushing Daises against Chuck and Lost against Dollhouse?? I’m well aware that it’s not possible to see and do everything at Comic Con but is it too much to ask that some of these bigger draws be a little more spaced out? Grr. Argh! (PS: Yes, that means I will be there so, if you wanna meet up, let me know.)
  • Casting About: I know, I know, Nicole Richie is going to be guesting on Chuck come fall. The thing is, I don’t really care to make a big fuss about it. Stunt casting doesn’t bother me nearly as much as it does other and I just keep thinking… at least it’s not Paris! In more exciting news, I could not be happier about Timothy Olyphant joining the cast of Damages. I have a serious TV crush on that man and I’m all for seeing more of him on my TV screen!
  • Dancing Shoes: And, finally, the dance shows. Ok, so I’m way too tired for analytical talk. Mark and Chelsea’s dance was the only one that blew me away on SYTYCD. I just loved everything about it and I’ve re-watched it way too many times. I wasn’t bothered by who got eliminated either. I think it’s way too early, I’m not attached to any of these dancers. Meanwhile, over on Best Dance Crew, everyone had a great night. Shane commented that he loved that night’s show because each crew was on and he was right. I just re-watched all of the routines and I still can’t pick a favorite, that’s how good they all were! My least favorite was the team that got eliminated but even they did a good job, they just didn’t as much as the others. I hope that’s exactly how they all tackle each and every one of the challenges because, if so, we’re in for one hell of a season!

    Just Jody says:

Oh, oh… What are you all going to do on Saturday at CC without me to camp out in Hall H all day?!?! ;)

I find the stunt casting annoying on one hand, but on the other I figure if it gets more people to watch, then go Chuck!

Haha… You were in Room 20! But I have no idea what I’m going to do, besides be sad. Guess I’ll have to spend the day there instead. ;)

I find it more annoying in serious shows but Chuck is light fare so it doesn’t bother me much. Plus, I guess I have just accepted it as something that’s done on TV. I’d much rather keep my show around longer than demand they never do things like this just to bump ratings.
