Noteworthy This Weekend

I’m at the office so naturally that means I’m procrastinating and what better way than to jot down some quick notes in the blog, eh?

Miranda, Samantha, Charlotte, and Carrie are back and on the big screen this weekend in SEX AND THE CITY.

  • Mini Martini Weekend: M & M and I went to see Sex and The City last night and it was pretty damn awesome. A little long sure but since I loved having the girls back I’m not complaining. There were SOOO MANY people there! I love seeing that kind of love for a TV show. In somewhat connected news, did you know you can watch Sarah Jessica Parker in Square Pegs on The Minisode Network? She’s so young! Just what I needed, another way to procrastinate…
  • Get Lost! I got my hair done today and my hairstylist and I talked Lost for the first twenty minutes. I love it when others love the same shows as me. I loved the season finale and I’m perfectly fine with it not being quite as OMG!shocking as the season before. However, since it was full of conclusions to things we already knew about or had figured out, I can understand why it fell a little flat to others. I probably have more thoughts but I’ve been so busy reading what everyone else had to say about it that I can’t promise that anything I’d write wouldn’t just be someone else’s ideas put into my words. So, I just figured I’d acknowledge that it was great and move on…
  • Miami or Bust: Next Thursday I will be heading down to Miami to visit the set of Burn Notice and I could not be any more excited about it if I tried!! I love me some Burn Notice and am looking forward to getting a glimpse behind the scenes. If you’re a fan of the show and want me to ask any particular questions or if there’s anything you’re dying to know about the set, drop me a note below and I’ll do my best to get answers/pictures for you.
  • Summer TV FYI: The second season Army Wives, one of the summer shows I grew to love last year, kicks off on June 8th at 10PM and, in the meantime, you can check out the trailer for the new season on YouTube.
  • Screening Fun: I’m also attending a TBS screening party for The Bill Engvall Show (the second season starts June 12th at 9/8c) this week and, if all goes well, chatting with Nancy Travis beforehand. Again, if you’ve got anything you’d like me to ask, be sure and leave me a comment below and I’ll bring it with me. Here’s a little sneak peek at the first episode of the season:

I love LOST. Except for maybe the Nikki and Paulo fiasco (and they were dispatched very nicely thank you very much!), I’ve never understood much of the criticism of it. It’s well written, well acted, entertaining, challenging and–as you pointed out–makes for great conversation!

I thought last season’s finale was the Best. Season. Finale. EVER!!! Particularly the moment where Hurley saves the day. I literally stood up and CHEERED when that happened. Nothing like that this go ’round (although admittedly I busy scribbling notes so I could blog about it later), but the reunion of Desmond and Penny was touching and the reveal of who was in the coffin gave us a great cliffhanger ’til next season.
