TV & Theme Park Rides = Woo Hoo!

Of all the things I found out via email today, it wasn’t Fidel stepping down or Toshiba giving up the HD fight that had me straightening in my seat. No, no, true to my TV whore title, it was the artwork for Universal Orlando’s The Simpsons Ride that got my attention.

THE SIMPSONS Ride, coming to Universal Orlando Spring 2008!

There’s still not enough info being released about the ride itself but I can’t deny that just having a placeholder website to stare at is exciting. I love theme park rides. I love TV. Combine the two and I’m like a little girl in candy/toy heaven.

The ride, which is scheduled to open this spring, will let you “experience a side of Springfield previously unexplored as you enjoy the new ride’s interpretation of thrill rides, dark rides and ‘live’ shows that make up a new fantasy amusement park dreamed up by the show’s cantankerous Krusty the Clown.” See how that actually says nothing about the ride? And, yet, I think knowing it’s supposed to be coming from Krusty’s vision of an amusement park is probably about all we need to know.

Now, if only I could get Universal to give me a free park pass to review the ride! (Haha, oh how I like to dream…)

I doubt Universal will let you into the ride early, but if they’re doing the same thing in Orlando that they are in LA, you can always buy a day and get the year free. ;)

Oh, well I didn’t mean that they’d let me in early. (Although, when I worked there, they did let employees ride the new rides early.) But they usually have a special day when they premiere the ride… I just want a free pass for the park that day. ;) We don’t have a buy one day, free the rest of the year at Universal. (That’s SeaWorld/Busch Gardens here.) They do have good deals on annual passes for residents, though.
