Be Yours Tonight

Cookies for you!Happy Valentine’s Day!!

I made s’mores cookies (picture to the right) for everyone at the office and I wish I could share them with all of you as well but I haven’t quite worked out the formula for transporting items via computer monitor yet. Someday.

In lieu of baked goods and rather than joining everyone else in rating the best kisses, the hottest couples, and the most tantalizing love triangles, I thought I’d be fun to take a look at episodes that are bound to cheer up those of us who are single on the one holiday that’s all about having someone else in your life. You know, episodes that remind us that love isn’t always what it’s made out to be and that there are worse things that can happen than being single.

Take, for instance, the BtVS episode “Innocence” and what what happens to Buffy:

Six scenes from “Innocence” from season two of BUFFY.

You finally give it up to the man of your dreams and he turns into a monster who attacks your friends and writes you creepy messages in blood. It’s enough to make you want to blow things up at the mall, kick him where the sun don’t shine, and seek comfort in your mother’s arms.

And for those of you tempted to take a new relationship to the next level just Cordelia wakes up pregnant in the ANGEL expisode “Expecting.”because you don’t want to be alone on Valentine’s? Well, let’s remember back to what happend to Cordelia in “Expecting” and she decided to be “safe” with Wilson… she ended in up a nightmare no alarm clock could wake her from and no Wilson in sight. An overnight baby bump and sudden craving for blood are no way to celebrate.

On the flip side, your friends could set you up with your ex like Chandler on Friends, “The One With The Candy Hearts:”

I’m just sayin’. Maybe being single on Valentine’s isn’t so bad after all, especially when it means I don’t have to fight anyone else for control of the TV and am free to curl up with the Winchester boys at 9PM on the CW or get Lost on an island with Sayid over on ABC.

Thanks! Absolutely you can… they’re pretty simple.

    What you’ll need:

    - Ingredients to make chocolate chip cookies (either from scratch or using any box mix/frozen cookie dough)

    - Marshmallows (cut in half)

    - Melting chocolate candy (I like milk chocolate but dark chocolate also works)

    1. Bake your chocolate chip cookies.
    2. Pull the cookie pan out of the oven and put 1/2 of a marshmallow on the top of each cookie.
    3. Put the cookie pan back in the oven for 1 to 2 minutes, until the marshmallows start to brown a little and puff up.
    4. Take the cookies back out and let the cookies cool for 2 minutes. Pat down the top of the marshmallows with your fingertips once cooled and move the cookies onto cookie rack covered with foil or parchment paper.
    5. While the cookies are cooling, melt your chocolate and then spoon melted chocolate over each of the marshmallows. Let the chocolate cool/harden. (Note: I usually let it cool for a few minutes and then put the cookies on a plate or platter and put it in the freezer for five to ten minutes to set the chocolate before stacking on top of each other.)

And there ya go! They’re really quite simple.
