Greetings from San Diego, Home of Stalled Trains that Block Every Crossroad for Miles

Checking in from Comic Con…

Having fun. It’s craziness. Just Jody from Canada (formerly known as [info]cdn_tvaddict) and I took a little unplanned sidetrip through Newport Beach on our way down from LA so we didn’t make it in time to see the Lost panel yesterday (check out duckydoestv or seat42f for the scoop on the panel) but we did have a nice dinner with fellow TV bloggers (and their friends) ducky, gmmr, seat42f, and the tvaddict. Then, after dinner, Dan, Kath, Seat, Jo, and I all had fun doing a (very long and rambly) podcast together. I’ll link to that as soon as Dan gets home to his computer and gets it posted.

Then there’s today… it feels like I spent most of the day looking for parking. Hopefully we’ll avoid that mistake tomorrow! Anyway, I pretty only managed to attend three panels today but they were all good so that worked out nicely. I’ll come back and talk about more each of the show screenings and panels (with pictures) I’m attending this weekend but, for now, a quick reaction to each.

The Moonlight panel was good. The promo (the longer version of the Interview with a Vampire promos they’ve been showing on CBS) they put together for it was pretty great and has renewed my interest in the show. It does a great job at showing Mick’s personality. I just hope they really did film that with the Mick that will be on the show, if you know what I mean. Anyway. The cast WAS there and Jason looked great as always but Alex O’Loughlin? Gorgeous. He passed me in the hall and, HOT DAMN, that man is smokin’!! Even with no sleep. (They had finished filming at 6AM and came right down to SD for the panel.)

However, Chuck is fucking awesome and the panel today was easily the best part of the day. Zachary Levi was so fucking cute with the way he loved the reaction they were getting and it’s clear that they all get along already. Need proof? Check out the video below… someone asked what it was like to film “uncomfortable” scenes and McG ended up staging a re-enactment of one such scene from the pilot:

What else? Oh Kevin Smith is funny and Reaper is, eh, okay. I wasn’t overly impressed by it. There were some pretty funny moments in there but some scenes took me right out of the show and that’s never good. Overall, it was a bit too uneven for me. I know I’ll give it several more episodes before I decide whether to axe it from my schedule but I hope they can figure out how to fix the issues. I’ll go more into those when I do my bigger write up.After the incredibly long Kevin Smith panel, several of us headed over to Baja Betty’s in Hillcrest to escape the CC crowds for dinner. It was delish… or so it seemed after not having had anything other than donuts and a couple Sugar Daddys all day. And that was my Friday. Oh! But I did meet [info]afrocurl as well as said a quick hello to [info]sinca and [info]sweetcynic23. And, amusing enough, I was wearing my My Pretty Pony t-shirt today and these girls in line, who are VM fans who were at Austin and have LJ, asked me where I got it. I never did get their LJ names, though, so I can’t link to ‘em. It was just a funny moment because they realized it was a VM shirt by the names of the cities on the back.

Ok, ok, this is way longer than I intended (as usual) and I have to be up in about 4 hours to go join Dan and Kath in line for the Pushing Daisies panel. Stay tuned for more!

It was great to meet you, too, Rae!

I loved watching the Chuck screener with the cast. I had to tell Zach how much I missed the scene on the way to defuse the bomb and he asked me how I saw it.

I enjoyed Reaper. But I’ve heard nothing but great things about Chuck, which I thought looked stupid from the preview clips! I refuse to fill up my Mondays! My Thursdays are bad enough!
