Glad to be appreciated…

Rain, rain, go away! If I say it enough times, do you think it’ll happen? I hope so. I had a busy night. A friend at work requested a version of this cake for her son. His party’s not until Sunday but I’m going out of town this weekend so I had to make it all last night. It’s not a hard cake to make… but baking two sheet cakes and making the bowling pins takes time. And I wasn’t going to miss one second of the premiere episode of BB8. Speaking of…

Big Brother 8
Hands down, the funniest thing I’ve seen on TV in the past three months? Joe telling the whole house (and world) that Dustin gave him gonorrhea and Dustin’s instantenous FREAK OUT and “IT WAS NEGATIVE!!” upstairs. HAHAHA. Then, Joe, in the Diary Room freaking out. Ahhh, I love it.

Dustin’s reaction to Joe claiming he gave him the Clap.

Joe’s reaction to being stuck in the house with Dustin.

I’m not a fan of having people who know each other in the house. Not to mention this whole unfinished business twist has already been done. Two exes sharing the house? Been there, done that. Family members in the house? Been there, done that. Twice. I know we haven’t done the middle/high school rivals whose fight is over an unpaid debt thing yet but, uh, when that debt is $5 it’s really too lame to even consider part of the equation. That said, Joe and Dustin are going to bring the drama, aren’t they? I can’t complain about the twist too much… even though I still hate the Dick and Daniele thing.

Uh. Yeah. I don’t have thoughts about the contestants yet. I have to see some more before I start judging them. I was making a cake last night so I didn’t have time to sit around and wait for the feeds to go live. I did tape Big Brother After Dark, though, so I can catch up on the late night happenings I missed. In some ways, it’s awesome for me because it means I won’t feel the same urge to stay up late and watch the feeds into the wee hours. I know they’re only showing one feed but, if anything juicy goes down, I’m betting that’s the feed we’ll be seeing.

I do kinda love the house, though. I just hope the hosue’s theme actually has a part to play in the game itself. So, more on this later… I’m sure I’ll be on the feeds this weekend. Oh! I did want to point out how lame that HOH was… spinning mushrooms? It didn’t even look like they were going that fast. Either it was just a crappy “TV” competition or it was a crappy competition. I’ll forgive it because it’s just the first one but it better not be the start of a disappointing trend. I love BB’s comps. Don’t let me down now, BB producers!

Burn Notice
Meanwhile, Burn Notice was funny last night. Lots more Bruce which is a big plus in my book! Plus Michael’s mother cracks me up.

The only thing that really bugged me was, uh, the way Michael dealt with the bug at the beginning of the episode. If you really wanted to find out who was taking pictures of you and had planted a bug in your mother’s house, why the HELL would you be openly discussing it with her AFTER you’ve found the bug and why the hell would you ask her about houses for sale on the street, again, WHERE THEY CAN HEAR YOU?! I kinda got that he knows they are watching him and that “they” aren’t stupid so it’s kind of pointless to try and hide. However, if you really want to try and sneak up on the people in the house across the street, why not at least ask your mom quietly so it gives you a little more time? Normally I’d handwave this stuff but Michael’s supposed to be this great spy… which means I should expect a little more from him in regards to this kind of stuff, no?

On my schedule for tonight: Pushing Daisies and Carpoolers!!! (I hope, anyway. My anti-rain dance better work.)

The Comic Con programming folks are teasing me… I don’t care about a sneak peek at the schedule. I want the whole thing so I can figure out what the heck I’m going to do about overlapping panels.

I think the bug was disabled when he detached it from its power source. He unplugged it before he started openly talking about it.

The problem was that in detatching it, an alarm sounded there and that warned them that he would be looking for them soon.

I must admit if I’d found it, I’d have left it and found some other way to get my mother to talk about the empty houses near by.

I want to see the whole program now, too. I at least know the minimum of the stuff I want to see now, but who knows about everything else. *heavy sigh*

Oooh. Well that makes a little more sense than what I thought he did but, yes, I still think he should have been a little more stealthy about it if he really wanted to catch the people who were listening.

The Dick and Danielle dynamic makes me feel icky because that’s real pain there, ya’ know?

I hear you about BBAD. For the most part, I think they’ll catch the most important stuff on the televised feed. My problem is more with the sound quality. Most scheming has always happened in the hot tub or during whispering sessions which are always hard for me to hear. If there’s no real-time translation, it’s hard for me to catch what’s happening and the CC’s aren’t always right.

I might pick up a cheap pair of remote-control headphones for the tv to make things easier for me, as well as my downstairs neighbor who probably isn’t crazy about listening to BB8 through his ceiling in the middle of the night. :)

    That Dustin moment was CLASSIC.
