Ok, I’m officially jealous.

I am starving. I don’t have time to be writing this but I need a few minutes of quiet time… I’ve sworn off watching my shows tonight because I HAVE to get to bed early. I have a flight at 7:15 tomorrow which means I need to be at the airport by 5:15. That’ll give me time to park in satellite parking and catch a bus to the terminal. So, yeah, I have to get to bed early so I’ll wake up with the alarm… no missing this plane.

Since the secret (though it was never a secret, I was just afraid of jinxing it) is out, I guess I should reveal where I’m going tomorrow… I’m off to Vancouver to visit the set of Supernatural! Duckyxdale and the TV addict already volunteered for this but, if you have something you want me to ask, drop me a note in the comments area. I’m not sure who we’ll be meeting yet though Jensen and Jared are a definite since the date of the trip has flucuated a bit to ensure we’d be there on a day when both were available. I’m just not sure who else will be available. My hopes are that Kim Manners and Eric Kripke will be around as well. I plan to write my trip report on the plane ride home but I’ll try to get some pictures posted Friday morning.

I’m amazed that I didn’t abuse the exclamation point there as much as I usually do but I blame it on being freaked out about getting ready. It’s making me strangely calm. Anyway, good news aside, let’s get back to this week’s TV.

The L Word
Given past finales, this one was fairly docile. I’ve liked it when the show’s gone out with a big bang but I liked the change of pace this time.

Shall I start with Jenny? Because how happy am I that she finally got taken down a peg? SO HAPPY. She totally deserved everything she got there. I think this probably makes me a horrible person but I didn’t feel even the slightest bit sorry for her. If I thought the show would actually get rid of her, I’d be rejoicing over that ending right now. I doubt it’ll happen. We’ll come back six months from now and she’ll have been rescued and everything will be back to normal.

Then there’s Bette and the completely misleading promo. I’m so glad she went after Jodi and came up with such a great way to do it. I actually felt for Tina and, for a minute there, I almost wanted them back together. I still think Jodi is better for Bette… certainly right now. Bette learning to give in to another person and Tina learning to be on her own are good things. I would be happy with them eventually working their way back together if they have some time to grow on their own.

Phyllis and the lawyer… what? If there’s one thing I was disappointed in this season, it was the wasted talents of Cybill Sheperd as Phyllis. They went out of their way to make her completely unattractive in this role and she ended up just being a wasted character. I don’t know if she’ll be back or not… I suspect so since it didn’t seem like Bette was changing careers yet again. I do hope that they’ll use her better next season if she does return.

Wait. While I’m talking about things I had issues with this season, let’s talk about Marina. What was the point of bringing her back? Was it because Jenny had to confront her memory of Marina and perhaps realize that she wasn’t this horrible monster Jenny had created in her mind? If so, why didn’t we ever see Jenny get that? Instead they teased us with the idea of a two episode arc when we got two very brief appearances. I’m disappointed that that’s all we got and I don’t particularly like Marina or Jenny!

Actually, I think I was fairly disappointed with all the new characters this season except for Jodi. I lie. I also liked Tasha. However, I wanted them to do more with Papi to accenuate how much Shane has grown. And, Paige… ugh. I actually liked her until I read that dumb interview with the woman who plays her and, man, I wish there was a way studios could prohibit actors from discussing their episode arcs on a show in interviews. I think they decided to get rid of her and she was bitter but it makes me mad because it ruined that entire storyline for me. I knew Paige wasn’t going to be around in six months so I wasn’t invested in any of those scenes with Shane looking for a house, etc., etc. GRRR. I wanted to tell Helena she should take that bet.

And, while we’re on Helena, I’m glad that she finally walked away from what’s-her-face but I fear it was too late to salvage her for me. I don’t know what they’re going to do with her next season but they need to find a good story for her or just get rid of her. I think they may have too many characters at thsi point and it’s really making it impossible to fully tell any one of the women’s stories.

Speaking of… what do ya bet Max won’t be back? I wasn’t sure but that last scene with her felt like a goodbye. She’s off to San Francisco with her girl toy and she may or may not do the surgery… she’s out of a job in LA and she can take care of Alice’s website anywhere. I am guessing we’ve eliminated at least one of our regulars right there. (And you won’t get any complaints from me on that front.)

Then there’s Alice who I love and adore. I could seriously watch a show with just Alice and Shane. They crack me up and I’ve missed the way they play off each other. Plus, DANA!!! Aww, I missed you so! I love the nod to the fact that Alice ahd reasons to fear for Tasha and want to protect her own heart… that she’s been through a lot in the past year. I never want to forget that Alice truly loved Dana in a way that she probably won’t ever love again. Which was why I was happy that she showed up at Tasha’s party and spent the night with her on the beach. I’m not sure what they can do with Tasha but I hope that she doesn’t get dropped because they’ve sent her off to Iraq.

Have I covered everyone? I didn’t talk about Tina in depth but I think I kind of covered her in the Bette paragraph. I was happy to see that she was being a grown up and actually trying to be Bette’s friend instead of trying to get her back. It was nice. I want to see Tina be on her own and find herself again.

I suppose I also have Kit but we really didn’t see much of her and, in some ways, I’m glad. I haven’t liked Kit’s story this year at all… from the abortion at the beginning to the terrifying fall off the wagon at the end. It makes me sad because I loved Kit last season. I hope that they can find something for her next year.

OH. Ok, I can’t not talk about my favorite segment on this show in FOREVER…. Bette, Alice, and Shane stealing that damn sign. It was all too funny. From the way they just shoved Shane over the windowsill to the look on Shane and Alice’s faces when they saw those dogs come around th corner. HAHA. I was afraid a cop was going to behind them at the very end but I love that they got the sign. I love it when we get to see the women being friends. Granted, my friends and I would probably never go to those extremes for each other but we also aren’t the stars of a TV show so it’s all relative, eh?

And that’s it… I suppose the Jenny part should be considered a cliffhanger but, since I don’t care what happens to her, I feel ok with having to wait six months for the next season. At least we know we have another season!

Prison Break
Well. The boys were looking mighty fine in this episode!! Or maybe I was just overjoyed that Michael had finally fucked T-Bag over. I hope he goes to Panamanian prison and never gets out. I really hate that character and I was ready for him to die. Still am, truth be told. If someone I like dies and that character is still on this show, heads will roll.

I loved the twist on Kellerman. I knew he wasn’t dead the moment they didn’t actually show us any blood. This show doesn’t shy away from showing us when someone’s dead. So, if they don’t show it… it’s not real. Still, I loved that it led to him being the one to support Sara. Granted, he’s going to be behind bars for a very long time now and that probably garuantees that he’ll be quietly disposed of but at least it’ll lead to Sara not losing 12 years of her life.

Uh… what else? I should have known Mahone had Linc captive and not the other way around but they used the character traits of those two very well in that scene. Linc doesn’t give when he’s pushed into a corner and Mahone’s been looking like death warmed over for many episodes now. I don’t know how this is all going to play out but it can’t end well. I guess we’ll see next week.

The Riches
Still good. Loved the con Dahlia pulled on the school principal. I’m a little worried about the family finding them now but surely it’s too early for that? I do hope that they show Doug faltering soon. I know that they’ve shown that he keeps getting thrown into impossible situations but he’s been able to get out of them pretty well so far. Now we need to see him sink a bit…

Ummm, I had more but I forget what so I’ll have to come back to it next week.

What About Brian
Awww, that was a great season finale. I loved all of the Dave and Deena bits. That’s the couple I loved prior to that whole open marriage thing. I knew they were going to realize they wanted everyone at the renewing of their vows but I don’t care that it was predictable because it was sweet.

I actually loved that their being gone for the weekend led to everyone else having to babysit and help out in other ways. It was a good way to use the cast. Plus, it let us see how great Brian is with the girls and, man, did he look so sweet in those scenes. I’d kill for a Brian!

I don’t know what’s going to happen to this show and I fear that it won’t be back so I almost don’t want to discuss the rest. In its own way, it worked nicely as a series finale. Brian seemed to realize who was the better match for him if he actually wanted a marriage and kids. (Took him long enough!) The others didn’t really have “ends” to their stories but they left off in places that gave us a hint as to where things would go. I’ll be happy if this show comes back but I’m satisified with this as an ending too.

I would like to note, for the record, this show really got so much better over the course of the season. I don’t rave about it like I do other shows but it is one of the shows I look forward to each week and I’ve come to love each of the characters. So, if they do bring it back, I encourage others to give it another shot.

And, hmmm, I think that’s it. I seem to remember watching something else in there but I can’t remember what. Of course, just as I’ve gotten all caught up, I’m about to fall behind again. Some day I’ll be back to normal! Hopefully before May sweeps start and I’m back to a full schedule of shows.

Shows tonight that I’m not watching but would be: Jericho, Bones, In Case of Emergency, Lost, and Top Design

Duuuude! Set visit mayhem! That’s awesome.

I don’t really have any questions. Just tell Kripke this Indian dude thinks he’s supercool for using a Hindu demon on his show. Also ask him for Alona Tal’s number.

I wouldn’t have anything articulate for you to ask anyone since while I love SPN, I don’t obsess about character development or plot arcs, etc. Just take a lot of pictures of the J2 prettiness for me, if you would!! Have a great time! :) :)

Oh my gosh! Have fun on your set visit!! I can’t think of anything I’d like you to ask, so I’ll just bid you cheerful bon voyage and have so much fun! I hope you can take pictures, I’m looking forward to reading your report.

Can I point one of my flisters to this post of yours? She is a HUGE SPN fan. She might have a question, I don’t know, but I figured she’d certainly be jazzed to read a report about your visit. Woo wee!
