A interviewed me and all I got was this awesome TV show…

For those keeping track (and no one is), I made it a whopping two and a half hours. Actually, I remembered a bill I had to pay and had an email I needed to send. So, here I am, comfortably enconsed at a nearby Starbucks enjoying a tangerine frappuccino as I “borrow” their T-Mobile WiFi. And, since I want to get the most out of my $6 hour, I figured I should finally post the interview meme I’ve been sitting on forever.

Two weeks ago, [info]athenacqd posted her answers to the Interview Me meme and I responded to her post asking her to interview me. She came up with awesome questions and I’ve been excited about them ever since. Unfortunately, I was stuck on one… the sad thing? In the end, my answer is the one that popped into me head as I was reading the question. All that delay for nothing!

Anyway, this is how it works: I answer her questions and then I pass it along. So, if you’d like me to interview you, ask me in the comments to this post and I’ll reply with five questions for YOU. Post your answers in your own journal, following the same rules.

1. If you could interview any actor/actress living today who would you pick? Sarah Michelle Gellar. It’s amazing how much Buffy Summers has changed parts of my life. That’s so geeky and maybe even a little weird to say but it’s true and being able to talk to Sarah about the show and the role. (Even though I’m sure she’s ready never to discuss it again.)
2. Rob Thomas, Greg Berlanti, JJ Abrams, Amy Sherman-Palladino, Kevin Williamson, Josh Schwartz: you get one hour, which ONE do you spend it with? Oh. She couldn’t make this easy by including the one showrunner I’d pick hands down! I’ve spent time with Rob so I’m knocking him out of the running. As much as I’d enjoy meeting ASP, Josh, or JJ, my pick would be Kevin Williamson. Dawson’s Creek is one my favorite TV shows of all time and I’d love to talk to him about it. Plus, I’m a huge fan of horror movies so I’d have multiple things to talk to him about. It helps that I’ve heard great things about the man himself.
3. You just got a full season order for Rae of Sunshine! The new hit show about your life. Who plays you? Who is your head writer? What network are you on? What timeslot/lead-in? Nice one! My final* answer:
Premiering this Monday after How I Met Your Mother…

Rae of Sunshine
8:30 pm CBS 30 min. PG
“It’s Like That Episode Of…” – A 20-something single computer geek tries to figure out she wants from life as she juggles a job, friends, and her obsession with television. In this episode, Rae (Drew Barrymore) has to overcome her phone phobia to return an important phone call or miss out on a life-changing opportunity. Written by: Jane Espenson

* Special thanks to both [info]cdn_tvaddict and [info]cadhla for coming up with some wonderful lead actress suggestions for me. In the end, I went with my original gut answer even though she’d be impossible to get on a sitcom and I’m sure there are other actresses who resemble me more!
4. We didn’t realize it, but Heroes? Is REAL! Do you want a super power? If so, which one? My friend and I discuss this a lot. In the end, I don’t know if I want a super power. Sounds like a cool idea but I think I’d be easily tempted to use my powers in bad ways. Not that I wouldn’t use them in good ways either but it seems like a slippery slope. If I did have powers, it’d be nice to have Hiro’s power to stop/bend time. Then I could avoid traffic, never be late, pop in on friends all over the world whenever I want, and always finish things on time despite my tendency to procrastinate. Of course, it’d probably just exacerbate my bad habits. If I knew I could just bend time and not be late, I’d be even more likely to get ready at the last minute or procrastinate. I also like Claude’s ability. As if my eavesdropping isn’t bad enough now, imagine if I could be invisible?! See. I’m better off without a power.
5. Ephram Brown, Bright Abbott, Pacey Witter, Logan Hutzberger, Sam & Dean Winchester, Cute!Dean, Lucas & Nathan Scott have all decided to road trip to Neptune, CA to meet up with Logan, Piz, and Dick. Sadly, Lucky, in yet another clever disguise, goes on a successful shooting rampage. Five boys perish. Who survives? This is just wrong. I’m so sorry for the casualties…
Dead: Cute!Dean, Ephram Brown, Nathan Scott, Piz, and Dick
Survives: Bright Abbott, Pacey Witter, Logan Hutzberger, Sam & Dean Winchester, Lucas Scott, and Logan

Bonus! Guess what, you get your pick of anyone’s job. Who do you overthrow? Jo thought this one would be obvious and easy for me. Not so much with the easy or obvious. As much as I love my various showrunners, I do NOT want their jobs. Lord. Too much responsibility and way too many people to keep happy. No, I’ve thought a lot about it and I think I’d rather be one of their assistants and since it’s my pick, I pick Joss Whedon’s assistant. Then I’d always know about his current projects and I’d get to watch them take shape. I’d meet all the wonderful people he works with and I might even get to do enough of the little jobs that surround him that I’d be able to figure out just where it is I fit in the television industry.

Yay! Awesome answers. I’m very pleased. I can’t believe you killed Ephram, though! That’s so tragic. Sigh.

Fun! Hee. For the record, I would have saved Ephram, Bright, Logans(2), and Pacey. I think. Hard choice!

I loved the answers but I’m glad you didn’t kill off Sam, Dean or Logan. As for being Joss Whedon’s go to/assistant…stressful but oh so exciting.

Hmm, you must have mis-read my email, because the job that I was sure you would go for was Rob or Joss’s right hand… not the actual showrunners jobs. So, really I was pretty close. :)

LOL! At your not being able to have a power.

Haha, well, he was never my favorite. I liked him at first and then I kind of drifted away from him. I did like him again in the last season but I loved Bright so I had to make a hard choice.

But you don’t watch Supernatural so you could easily eliminate them! It was harder than I initially thought it would be. Ephram was the hardest choice but ultimately I had to admit he was never my favorite character.

    raelee says:

Haha, well Sam was on the hit list for a minute or two but then I realized I couldn’t do that to Dean. ;)

And, yeah, it’d definitely be stressful and I doubt I’d stay his assistant for long but it’d be cool for a little while.

    raelee says:

Oooh, for some reason I thought you meant the actual showrunning and that just scares me! And, really, is it any surprise that you were close? ;)

You know it’s true! I’d abuse any power I’d be given! Orb-ing would be the best though. I guess if I just had the power to orb I couldn’t use it for too much bad so that’s probably one I’d like.

    I agree 100%.
