Happy Marsday!

Man, it’s been SO LONG since I’ve been able to say that! I’m going to savor these next six weeks so that I’ll be able to stand the very long eight weeks that will follow them.

YES, Veronica Mars is new tonight.
And, YES, I will be watching live…
Because, YES, I still love this show as much as ever.

To help you pass the time until tonight’s show, have three VM interviews:

  • Couch Baron Interviews Rob Thomas Again(Spoiler Rating: Slightly spoilerish for the rest of the season.) I know other people had issues with this interview but I really enjoyed it. I find it amusing that everyone finds their own way to spin things Rob says. Personally I enjoy hearing his point of view on things and, if nothing else, the interview helped me understand why Rob would have eliminated the Logan/Felix/Weevil thing from last season. I agree with him that it probably did contribute to the overall confusion of the season. However, I personally think the season would have been so much better recieved had he elminated the bus mystery and made the main arc about Felix instead. It had the emotional investment that was missing with the bus via Logan being accused and Weevil’s connection to Felix. It had so much supporting information that it clearly could have been spread out some more. Anyway, the point was that I now understand all of Rob’s comments about the Logan mystyery and why he’d want to get rid of it. I just happen to think the bus mystery was the weaker mystery and think it would have been interesting to see a Season 2 if they had.

  • Pop Candy’s ‘A chat with… Veronica Mars star Jason Dohring’(Spoiler Rating: Spoilers for upcoming episodes towards the beginning of this one.)[info]cdn_tvaddict is going to laugh at me for posting this but the beginning of this interview totally made my day. I know exactly how Jason feels about golfing and being stuck with it. If there were ever a need for me to be interviewed and I was just coming off the golf course, I’d probably say pretty much the same exact thing. So much so that I haven’t been able to get the desire to golf out of my head for weeks… I haven’t been on the course in forever and suddenly I feel like I won’t be happy until I’ve played a round. Damn game. Anyway. I didn’t read the spoilery stuff so I skipped to the end where Jason reminded me of why I love him. I don’t care how many girls show up at an American Eagle signing, the guy is always going to admit when he thinks he hasn’t been bringing his A game and I love that about him. It’s one of the things that changed me from a Logan fan to a Jason fan.
  • Amrie, of The TV Addict, Interviews Michael Muhney(Spoiler Rating: Spoiler Free!) Awww, Michael the Protector of Spiders. Truly, that is one of the sweetest resolutions I’ve seen anywhere. If I believed in New Year’s resolutions and made them, I’d probably be feeling like a horrible person for not having something like that on my list! Anyway, this is just the type of interview I like to read – skimpy on show details but tells you a lot about the character of the actor. Now, when is Michael going to announce this new project of his?!

Oh, the Jason and Michael interviews are adorable, I admit.

I have to agree with you on the part at the end where he was critical of himself. I think whenever I’ve talked to him, he comes at VM from the standpoint of what he gets to do as an actor and then is really appreciative for the fan support.

Michael’s interview is also just about the sweetest thing I’ve read from him in ages. So cute!

Hell, yeah! I’m really not looking forward to the next hiatus. At all.

As did I. Of course, I happen to agree with or at least appreciate his perspective on certain things, so that probably helped. :) I also enjoyed his interview at BuddyTV. (In case you haven’t seen it, the end of the interview has plot spoilers for tonight’s ep and general spoilers for the ‘feel’ of the current mystery arc.)

I enjoyed the RT interview, probably because I was in at least partial agreement with him on all points. That always helps. I do wish he was a little more open to listening to criticism even if he doesn’t agree with it.

I’m not sure if the bus crash mystery was intrinsically weaker than the Felix murder mystery – just the way that it played out was. Anyway, I think that RT’s criticism had more to do with the inexpert juggling of both mysteries than either one’s merits.

That would have been a very different Season 2 (if the bus crash had been nixed and the Felix murder had been the main mystery). Imagine if we had watched the summer antics play out in real time (with Logan and Veronica’s relationship fall apart and all). Could have been cool actually.

Argh, dammit! I didn’t know it new and also assumed the State of the Union Address would preempt it. Crapola, I hope I didn’t miss something important.

Yes, exactly. I love that about him.

I’m really trying to not think about it at all.

Thanks for the BuddyTV interview link! I had not read it and it was interesting. I saved the link so I can go back and read the parts regarding last night’s episode after next week.
