Joy! I haven’t checked the list of guests for the FX Show in awhile… mostly because I go every year regardless of the guest list. However, Whedonesque tells me Adam B has been added to the list and I go to check and… HOLY CRIKEYS! Lots of good guests this year. I’m not much for the guests but I do have a DVD set I’d like KB to sign so, if I’m gonna be there, I might as well get a few other things signed, eh? If only I could remember what if they allow outside stuff for autographing.
Went to the party at my boss’ place this evening and it was fun. We had delicious baked ziti and a variety of other things to munch plus wine, mixed drinks, and beer. I only had a bit of wine as I had a good thirty minutes to drive to get home and wine is headache inducing for me. Not to mention I don’t really like it. How much fun am I? Ha. Still, I enjoyed myself. There was some vomiting… happily not from me or in the vicinity of me but, still, it’s not a party until someone pukes all over the entryway, right? Right.
So, the husband of one of my co-workers is actually one of my professors from college. Of course I’ve known this all along and I see her every day of the week but I haven’t seen him since I attended class with him. And tonight he asked me how long I had been working at IST – to get an idea of how long it’s been since I was in his class… SEVEN YEARS, PEOPLE. WTF? How is it possible I’ve been a college graduate for that long? (Not quite… 6 1/2 years but I didn’t have him that last semester.) Anyway, it was kind of a surreal moment when I realized just how long it’s been since I’ve been in school. But, it was balanced out by the fact that he spent a few minutes telling another coworker what a great student I was (hmmm, if he says so!) and how it was a pleasure to get students like me in class. (Yes, I was totally a teacher’s pet throughout my entire educational career.)
Moving right along… holiday cards. I think most of you saw this post but, just in case, if you’d like a holiday card… let me know.
Oh… and now I need to go because Colbert is on and tonight is his Guitar Solo Challenge with Decemberists’ guitarist Chris Funk.
PS: I have not ever played Guitar Hero but tonight I convinced a coworker she should buy it for her son (who actually plays guitar and is into gaming) completely based on that silly video clip of Jared P playing it against that guy on SV and the fact that the VM writers play it all the time. I’m not sure why I’m sharing that… just thought it was amusing that I have no clue about the game but I’m still selling it just because my favorite shows have had something to do with it in some way.
