Come Sail Away

Soooo, hey, hi. I’m back, sunburn and all.

The cruise was awesome. Weather was perfect the whole time and we only hit a patch of rough water the last night but even that was at night so I was able to just go to bed when I got a little nauseous. I’d definitely recommend Royal Caribbean as a good cruise line. Friends haven’t had the best experiences on other cruise lines but we had a huge boat (and it’s the smallest in their fleet) and no problems. I basically spent two full days on the beach drinking fruity drinks and soaking up the rays. That last part was a bit unfortunate since I ended up with a bad sunburn and a hysterical farmers tan ON MY FACE. Luckily my glasses hit at exactly the same spot as my sunglasses so you can’t really tell there’s a very blatant line between the part of my face that got sun and the part that didn’t. I’m such a dork.

I don’t really have time to get into many specifics here. Basically everything was wonderful. I drank more this weekend than I have all year. Eeek! The Dueling Pianos show was beyond awesome. I ended up going every night because it was so much fun. I actually made my money back in the casino but then lost it all by not cashing out. I’m a sucker for the slots. The food was great and the desserts even better. Surprisingly I only made it through two books because there were too many things to do and too many people to watch.

Here are some visual aids that illustrate how I spent the weekend… you can click on the picture to view the full-size version.

The boat docked in Nassau, Bahamas.

We managed to snag a group picture under the welcome sign.
I cheated and put it first but it was actually taken at the end of the day.

Me on our lounge chairs at the Breezes All-Inclusive Beach Resort in Nassau.
We spent the day there and drank many fruity drinks…

The view from our lounge chairs.

See? Me enjoying a fruity drink (a Melon Ball) in the water.
It was divine… the drink and the water.

One of the birds who stole L’s hamburger patty right off her bun. Pesky birds.

Zoomed in view of the boat in the picture above.

Later in the day, we moved to a grassy/shaded spot with hammocks.
This is me enjoying my book there.

If you care to see a few more, you can check out my Cruise Gallery.

And now I’m home… only I came back a little broken. My knee still hurts from running down the hall on the tips of my toes and I’m having an inner ear balance issue that just won’t go away. My mom freaked me out and made me all paranoid this morning with a story about an inner ear infection she once had. Thanks, Ma. I’m going to just go on hoping that it’s from lack of sleep and getting readjusted to my schedule before I start making plans to see a doctor.

I tried to catch up on LJ but I can’t say that I did that great of a job. If something big and important happened to you this weekend and you want me to know about it, nudge me in the comments. Of course I did check out all the posts and pictures from the CW Mall Invasion… so no need to point those out. *g* I think that’s about it. A source who shall go unnamed has supplied me with DVDs for several of the fall pilots. I know everyone else in the world has seen them all but I was trying to be good and wait. So much for that idea! I’m viewing them in the order of my source’s preference so I’ll have to give a full report after I’m done with ‘em.
