Happy New Year!
I hope everyone has had or is having a wonderful time welcoming the new year whether you were doing it here on LJ or out at some party or somewhere else. 2005 was a strange, sometimes wonderful and sometimes downright nasty, year for me. It brought a lot of change into my life: a new job, wonderful new friends, and much much more. There are many reasons not to hate it despite the less than pleasant things it brought with it but I’m happy to see it in my rearview mirror. Bring on the new year!
New Year’s Eve was quiet. I’d complain about how I’m the most exciting person alive but, since I’m NOT typing this hyped up on antibiotics and my finger in a splint with multiple stitches like last year, I’m kinda embracing the boring part of my nature. Mo and I spent the evening trying out different finger foods, sampling some Smirnoff Twisted flavors, and watching movies. This meant I rang in the new year with Serenity and, again, I can’t complain about the results of my non-partying nature. Well, ok, it was a little freaky that I was at that part of the movie right as the old year ended and the new one began.
I don’t do the resolution thing as I have much better luck when I set yearly goals. However, I don’t assess previous goals and set new ones until my birthday so I can’t even share those yet. For all of you who do come up with resolutions, I wish you much luck in sticking with them over the next year. It’s a hard thing to do at times but I have faith in each and every one of you.
Do you hear that? I think… yes! My pillow is calling my name. *wink*
*hugs all of her friends and wanders off to bed*
