C is for Cookie

Every year at Christmas time, I give away boxes of cookies as presents to my co-workers. Which means I end up baking lots and lots of cookies. Exhibit A: See picture below, the assortment of cookies I made two years ago.

My collection of Christmas cookies from a couple of years ago.Sometimes my tendency to procrastinate leaves me settling for easy cookies, the ones I make the most. This year I’m determined to get the cookies done early so I can try out some new recipes. Which is why I was so excited to find out about the Food Network’s 12 Days of Cookies, an email newsletter with a new cookie recipe every day. Every cookie they’ve sent has gotten me more and more excited about this year’s baking!

Chocolate Oat Cakes at FoodNetwork.comThe picture of today’s cookie, Chocolate Oat Cakes, has me craving one. I’m not so sure about those nuts on the bottom but they’re chopped thin enough that they probably wouldn’t bother me. And I love cookies that can be made in my mini-muffin pan. I can’t wait to try ‘em out.

But the real reason I’m writing is because today I discovered the videos that go along with the 12 Days of Cookies. THEY ARE MADE OF AWESOME! Especially for folks who have hard time picturing/trusting what a cookie should look like just from the recipe alone. Now you can watch as someone walks through each recipe, giving you little helpful baking tips along the way. So perfect! I want to kiss the person at the Food Network who came up with this idea.

So, if you’re like me and enjoy baking at this time of year, be sure to check out the 12 Days of Cookies Videos at the Food Network’s website.

I’m baking for my office-mates this weekend, and after going through what I planned to make I realized I’ve NEVER MADE ANY OF THESE RECIPES BEFORE. But they all sound so tasty, I refuse to change because I want to taste them all!

This is either going to be the best idea ever, or the worst.

Oh, don’t change just because you haven’t done them!!! Haha, it’ll be the best idea. I mean, one or two of the cookies might not come out right but overall you’ll have a great mix of cookies and they’ll be delicious! And, hey, it’ll impress your office mates too.
